Acoustic Fit Out

MRI technologies are rapidly advancing to keep pace with the increasing demand for MRI as one of the preferred imaging modalities. MRI Equipment vendors are frequently releasing new models into the market place with larger field strengths and more powerful gradient coils. This can result in very high acoustic outputs which need to be controlled both within the MRI Room, and from affecting adjoining spaces, including tenancies above or below.

ACEPT has worked very hard to develop acoustic wall systems to keep pace with the constantly evolving MRI technologies, by designing systems to handle the structural and acoustic borne noise and vibration generated by the MRI when in operation. Our wall systems have been developed through research and development testing at CSIRO laboratories in Melbourne, and we are continually researching new materials to integrate into our wall systems for future requirements.

Our approach to acoustic treatment starts with the construction of the structural walls lining the MRI Room, to ensure that structural bridging and separation from building structure is achieved, and that adequate insulation is installed to meet required acoustic separation. Careful consideration must be given to this wall structure and is handled by ACEPT as part of our turn-key solution to MRI Installations.
